you can see the role of the 3 BCAA's (valine, leucine, isolecine) during workouts

QUOTE
What Is The Difference Between Essential and Non-Essential Amino Acids?

Essential amino acids cannot be made by the body. You must get them from complete protein foods or combinations of incomplete vegetable foods. There are 9 essential amino acids: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, and valine. Your body can make non-essential amino acids by itself from vitamins and other amino acids.

The term "non-essential" can be misleading since all amino acids are essential for proper metabolism and certain non-essential amino acids, such as glutamine, become very essential during illness or trauma. The 13 non-essential amino acids are alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, cysteine, cystine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, hydroxyproline, proline, serine, & tyrosine.

The essential branched chain amino acids (BCAA's) are of special importance for athletes because they are metabolized in the muscle, rather than in the liver. Here's how this works: After digestion once protein is broken down into individual amino acids these aminos can either be used to build new proteins or be burned as fuel to produce energy.

People I'm Back. It feels like 4-EVA since I've been in the forums. Anyways, my computer was seriously SCREWY for about a week or so, but NO i'm BACK. Back to the Point of this Thread!

Sponge. What vitamins and supplements are really that important to take. I mean with sooo many products and each with a nice little price tag. Update us all on the NEED to TAKE and WHAT will you expect. If you have any personal experience with good results tell us. LIke I hear That Fish and Flax oil is great. I know all the scientific stuff but WHAT exactly can one SEE or FEEL from using such products?

I use whey, dextrose for post workout. I also acquired some vitamin C and i haev ZMA/tribulus/BCAA etc sitting on the shelf that I dont' even bother using.
Str8tStackN
Man, why aren't you taking that stuff? I thought all of those shelved items that you listed are actually better then Dextrose.
Cheeks
the tribulus/zma will hardly do anything. BCAA aren t' very useful unless you want to wake up half way in the night and pop a few. not worth it IMO
dextrose is far more important as you can use it to spike insulin post workout. insulin then forces nutrients into muscles = ANABOLISM

I RULE THX
