"The black seeds are edible, and have a sharp, spicy taste. They are sometimes ground up and used as a substitute for black pepper."

I wonder, would making a "pepper" of these seeds have the same effect as eating the fruit (in terms of digestion/protein obviously). It would be a neat little change.

Yeah I wasn't sure if it was in the seeds (or even a significant amount). JUST CHECKIN' PAL ^^_^______^

I finally found some Papaya Enzyme chewable tabs (90 tabs for $8 Canadian). They're amazing. One of these with a protein shake (oh other high protein stuff) and I'm gas free. Life saver smile.gif

Eat papaya half ripe for much more of the papain, even tho it's gross. I notice when I eat a lot of almonds and A LOT of half ripe papaya same day I get noticeable more pumped, working out or not. It's cool to notice results from simple foods!

And def eat the seeds. A tbsp/d kills parasites, and I use some of the dried seed as a pepper like seasoning, like the other poster said. It's awesome like that and healthier.

BTW, the good enzyme in pineapple is bromelain.
